Tlaquepaque, surrounded on all sides by the growing expanse of metropolitan Guadalajara, has a central district full of artisan shops catering to the tourist trade, though there was more junk than art to be found. We did find one shop selling some very lovely ceramics and purchased a couple bowls and a ceramic plaque, but certainly not at bargain prices. The main charm of the town was its architecture, with many beautiful doorways leading to intriguing courtyards.
